Transportation Company Seeks to Hire 400 Drivers, Techs, Support Staff to Expand Commuter Services
Seattle-based TransWest, a transportation company that operates shared shuttle programs for many of the region’s top employers, said this week that it plans to hire about 400 new employees to support its growing commuter-service programs, with about 80% of those jobs based on the Eastside.
The expansion will create opportunities for drivers, mechanics, and support teams across Seattle, Everett, and Redmond, it said.
TransWest says 300 driver positions are available, including roles for those with a commercial driver's license and a passenger endorsement. It’s offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified CDL drivers. For non-CDL applicants, it’s offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus and paid training for anyone interested in obtaining their CDL and passenger endorsement, according to a news release. All positions include benefits. The jobs are split across TransWest’s fleet, with the majority of CDL driver jobs for motorcoaches. Non-CDL driver jobs are for smaller vans.
TransWest also is hiring fleet technicians and support teams to assist with operations and customer service. Its website has more details.
"It's our people, especially our drivers, who've helped us grow independently from a valet service into a top end-to-end mobility provider over the past 12 years," Andrew Janison, founder and CEO of TransWest, said in a statement. "If you're looking for a reliable route, a steady schedule, great culture and benefits, and an opportunity to make a difference in your community, we'd love to have you join our team.”
He said the shuttle programs make commuting easier, less stressful, and more environmentally responsible as more companies seek sustainable, efficient ways to move their teams.
